Hi, my name is Kim, and welcome to Dog Trotters Trail Fitness. I have been a pet owner my entire life and decided to finally blend my love for furry family members and my career. I started dog trotters as I saw a real need in the market for smaller dogs to get the exercise they deserve. While dog walkers are great, many small to medium size dogs will benefit more from a trot as it's a true fitness program, not a sidewalk saunter.
A trot is a dog's natural gait which gives your loved pet the exercise they deserve. Dog Trotters Trail Fitness focuses on trails as we know the importance of keeping your pet's brain stimulated. Walking the same few blocks can be boring for your pet and trails are your dog's natural habitat.
Why Should You Choose Dog Trotters Trail Fitness
Trails Only - No Sidewalks
Here in Barrie we live in weather extremes. The Summer can bring burning hot sidewalks and the Winter can bring salt burn on pups' paws. Trail trots eliminate these man made hazards.
Trails are also softer on the joints than hard and hot sidewalks. Trots are 40 - 60 minutes long and GPS tracking is available.
Trotting Over Walking
Each trot will be between 3 and 4 kilometers and will include a warm up and cool down. This gives your dog the exercise they need to ensure they are tired and settled when they get home but not exhausted.
A trot is more exercise than a walk but not a full run to help improve your dogs overall physical health.
Pack Trotting
Pack trotting encourages confidence and is much more fun for your dog! Dogs will all be vetted before they join the pack to make sure they are a good fit.
Not only will your dog get the exercise they need but they will also make new friends and get the socialization they crave.
Services
Each trail trot is $30 unless you are trotting more than once a week in which case each trot is $25. Each Trail is between 3 and 4 kilometers. We offer a complimentary meet and greet for you to get to know us and for us to get to know your pup! Each Pup is evaluated on a test trot to ensure they are a good fit with the rest of the pack.
We are pet first aid trained as well as bonded. All dogs will be required to be up to date on vaccines as well as tick and flea medicated.
We offer trots twice a day to fit into your busy schedule. Trots are weather permitting.

What Do I Need To Provide?
Safety comes first no matter what.
This is why we ask all pet owners to provide a harness to avoid any potential choking hazards with a collar.
Covid Safety
We will wear a mask upon entering and leaving your home as well as additional hand sanitization before and after every drop off and pickup.
Our trotters are all fully vaccinated.
Cancellation Policy
Most dog walkers will charge a cancellation fee but at Dog Trotters Trail Fitness, we get it, life happens. If your pet is not feeling well just let us know the day of by 7:00am.
Will You Come To Me?
Yes! We are a door to door service and will pick up and drop off your pet. We will wipe off any muddy paws and will top up water bowls.
